TRAVELMetro: The DC Metro system is the ideal way to get to the meeting from anywhere in the city, via the Foggy Bottom/GWU stop (Orange/Blue/Silver lines). The Science and Engineering Hall, where the meeting will be held, is just across the street from the metro exit. Metro cards can be purchased at automatic machines in any station. They cost $10, and include $8 credit.
Train: Anyone planning to arrive in Washington via train will arrive at Union Station (WAS), which is on the Metro system Red Line. Take the Red Line towards Shady Grove and transfer to the Orange/Blue/Silver at Metro Center to get to the Foggy Bottom/GWU stop.
Airports: Washington is served by three airports, which all offer simple transport options into the city.Ronald Reagan (DCA) is on the Metro system Blue Line and straight 6-stop journey to the Fogy Bottom/GWU stop.Dulles International (IAD) has many ground transportation options, but perhaps the simplest (and cheapest) is the official Washington Flyer Silver Line Express Bus to the Silver Line (Wiehle-Reston East station). Tickets are $5 each way. Once on the silver line, it is again a straight 11-stop journey to the Fogy Bottom/GWU stop.Baltimore Washington International (BWI) also has many ground transportation options, including an inexpensive express Metro shuttle bus option (B30 bus route; $7 fare), which delivers you to the Green Belt Metro station on the Green Line.
Car: Parking in Washington is very expensive and overnight parking is hard to find. If you choose to drive, the first step for parking would be to ask your hotel about overnight parking options.
